While CFS screenings are postponed, we have made a digital copy of a recent CFS film preservation project available for your at-home enjoyment.

“The Spider and the Fly” is a 16mm home movie shot on the Northwest side of Chicago in 1938, it features sound, scenes of the Riverview amusement park, and a terrifying Halloween puppet show.

Learn more about the history of the film and the story of its preservation here.

All shows postponed until further notice

Cherished audience,

While we would like nothing more than to show you The Masque of the Red Death right now, the Film Society is postponing all screenings through at least April 30.

We hope to reschedule all screenings in the future, when it will be safe and fun to gather again with strangers in the dark.

Please spread the word to any friends who may not have internet access.

You can reach us at — we miss you!

Thinking of all of you,

Becca, Kyle, Cameron, Rebecca, and Julian
